As part of Brighton Digital Festival, Wired Sussex are organising a Connected TV Brighton mini-conference on Friday 21 September from 2pm - 6pm at The Basement.

Why Connected/Smart TV? TV App Agency's Andy Eardley will be reflecting on what we learnt from Mobile and looking at overcoming the challenges of Smart TV Fragmentation and the convergence of devices.

Anna Carlson and Steve Winton of digital consultancy Nixon Mcinnes, will be sharing their experiences of working with Channel 4's multiplatform team and TV production companies to create interactive digital content for the tellybox.
 
Their talk will focus on challenges and opportunities inherent not only in converging formats, but also in converging the working practices of people from two vastly different cultures, TV and digital.  They'll look at the needs and behaviours of both groups, before exploring how they can learn from each other and work together to create truly worldclass, connected entertainment experiences.

Andrew Eades, CEO of Relentless Software.  Andy will be discussing the evolution of games in his talk ‘No Console Required – Bulldozing the Barriers to Entry’.

Richard Griffiths, Programme Leader, Postgraduate Programme in Interactive Technologies, University of Brighton, will be talking about some of the issues in teaching new entrants to the industry in the face of disruptive change as well as looking at the recent history in the digital TV industry.
 
The event will be a great chance to network with others in the digital, media & technology sectors, as well as an opportunity to discuss ideas and developments within your sectors in terms of convergence and Connected TV - all over a beer or two!
